I think it means we need to learn more about Bio-Synths. What are they? Are they human or A.I.? Cyborg or purely robotic facsimiles? In order to answer these questions, more stories will need to be written.
I really like this. The moment draws you in a way that’s relatable, that moment of vulnerability and trust with another person. The surrounding details lead to so many questions that could be explored in a bigger story, nudging the curiosity along. Well done.
Thank you, Renee! Maybe it’s because I’m finally sitting down to create stories, but I feel like each little piece of flash fiction creates a world that yearns to be developed. A moment that wants desperately to become two. I hope to revisit some of these worlds and give them more shape. Or possibly to realize that they are disparate parts of the same story. Only as we uncover more in The Artifact will we know the answers to these questions.
